Two Days When Safflowers from Yonezawa, Yamagata Bloom in Yokohama!
An exhibition, local product fair, and cultural events featuring safflowers will be held in Yokohama!
Yonezawa City, located at the headwaters of the Mogami River—known as the “mother river” of Yamagata Prefecture—has a long history of safflower cultivation and dyeing. Today, Yonezawa is working to pass down this rich heritage and revitalize the local community through the “Mogami River Headwaters Yonezawa Safflower Project.”
Following last year’s planting of Keio-zakura cherry trees, which helped foster a special connection, we are pleased to continue our exchange with Yokohama City by hosting an exhibition and tourism fair featuring safflowers.
We hope this event will serve as an opportunity for people in the Tokyo metropolitan area to learn more about Yonezawa City through the beauty and cultural heritage of safflowers.
We warmly invite you to visit the venue and experience it for yourself.
