Call for Volunteer Staff for the 49th Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival!

Recruitment of Volunteer Staff for the Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival

The lighting of candles in the snow lanterns and the creation of snow bonbori each year are made possible thanks to the generous support of our volunteers.

We warmly welcome your participation again this year as we work together to make the festival lively and enjoyable for all our visitors.
Group and circle participation is also highly encouraged.


◆ Volunteer Dates & Times

  1. Saturday, February 14, 202617:00–20:00
  2. Sunday, February 15, 202617:00–19:30

Please gather at the on-site headquarters (prefab unit at the Festival Plaza parking area) at 16:50.


◆ Eligibility

  • 16 years or older
  • No gender requirement
  • Group participation welcome

◆ Activities

  • Candle lighting for snow lanterns and snow bonbori
  • Venue maintenance (trash collection, snow removal around lanterns, etc.)

Volunteers will work under the direction of festival staff.


◆ How to Apply

Please apply using the QR code (Google Form) provided in the Recruitment Guidelines or the Volunteer Application Form.

If applying on paper, fill out the application form and submit it to the Secretariat (Yonezawa City Tourism Division) in person, by mail, or by fax.


◆ Application Deadline

Friday, January 23, 2026


◆ Other Information

  • No meals will be provided. Please purchase food at the Festival Market booths or eat beforehand.
  • As activities take place in snowy conditions, please bring warm clothing and snow boots.
  • As a token of appreciation, a small gift will be given to all volunteers after their shift.
  • No parking is available near the venue. Please use the festival shuttle bus or public transportation.
