Recruitment for Volunteer Staff – Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival
The lighting of candles in the snow lanterns and the creation of snow “bonbori” lanterns are made possible each year thanks to the dedicated support of our volunteers.
To help bring energy to the festival and ensure that all visitors have a wonderful experience, we are once again seeking many enthusiastic participants. Group and circle participation is also highly welcome!
Schedule
① February 14 (Saturday), Reiwa 8 (2026), 17:00–20:00
② February 15 (Sunday), Reiwa 8 (2026), 17:00–19:30
Volunteers are asked to gather at 16:50 at the festival headquarters (prefabricated office inside the Festival Plaza parking area).
Eligibility
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- All genders welcome
- Group/organization participation highly encouraged
Volunteer Activities
- Candle lighting for snow lanterns and snow bonbori
- General site maintenance (collecting garbage, clearing snow around lanterns, etc.)
Activities will be carried out under the direction of festival staff.
How to Apply
Please apply using the QR code (Google Form) provided in the application guidelines or on the volunteer application form.
For paper applications:
Fill out the application form and submit it to the festival office (inside Yonezawa City Tourism Division) in person, or send it by mail or fax.

Notes
- Meals will not be provided. Please purchase food at the Tent Village Market or eat beforehand.
- As activities take place in snowy conditions, please bring your own winter clothing and boots.
- As a token of appreciation, volunteers will receive a small gift after their shift.
- Parking is not available near the venue. Please use the festival shuttle bus or public transportation.
