Performer
Shunputei Mankitsu (Fourth Generation)
Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1979.
- Entered the school of Shunputei Enkitsu (a disciple of the famous Enraku family) in 2003.
- Rose to prominence under the stage name “Shunputei Kitsutsuki,” winning numerous competitions for young rakugo storytellers.
- Promoted to Shin’uchi (master storyteller) in March 2013, taking the name “Shunputei Mankitsu (4th generation).”
- In June 2018, awarded the National Engei Hall’s “Hanagata Engei Grand Prize” (Gold Prize).
Today, he is regarded as one of the most promising and exciting rakugo performers in Japan.
