Ishinomaki Local Products and Tourism Fair at Uesugi Jōshien
Saturday, September 27 & Sunday, September 28

We are excited to announce that the Ishinomaki Local Products and Tourism Fair will be held over two days—Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28—at Uesugi Jōshien!

This year, we’re happy to welcome six vendors, two more than last year!

At the outdoor special event area, you can enjoy freshly grilled gourmet treats from the sea, such as scallops harvested from the rich Sanriku waters, large grilled whelk skewers, and the famous charcoal-grilled beef tongue skewers—all served hot and ready to eat!

Inside the main building, the local products market will feature a wide selection of Sanriku specialties: salted wakame and kombu seaweed from Jūsanhama, crunchy stem wakame, funori (red seaweed), oysters in the shell, simmered oysters in saltwater, oyster gratin, as well as signature dishes like nori (seaweed) udon and roasted nori sheets. These coastal delicacies are rare finds in inland areas like Yonezawa!

A Grand Prize Drawing will also be held during the event—spend at any of the booths for a chance to win amazing local specialties from the Ishinomaki area!

Plus, the official tourism mascot of Sendai and Miyagi, Musubimaru, will be making a special appearance to help promote the charm of the Ishinomaki region!

At the same time, right next door in front of the Denkokunomori Museum, the Yonezawa Naseba Naru Autumn Festival & Don-Don Festival will also be taking place!

Don’t miss this chance to enjoy delicious food and regional culture—make sure to stop by Uesugi Jōshien during the event!
