**The 49th Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival

– Bamboo Lights × Snow × Prayers 2026 –**

February 14 (Sat) & February 15 (Sun), 2026

~A Project to Light Up and Connect the Community with Bamboo Lanterns~
Bamboo lanterns created together by local residents will be lit with prayers for repose and recovery, dedicated to those affected by earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters.
Enjoy the beautiful harmony of the warm glow of bamboo lanterns and vibrant colorful candles.

February 14: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM
February 15: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

◆ Bamboo Lantern Making Workshop (During the Festival)

JPY 1,000 per lantern
No reservation required. Please come directly to the venue.

◆ Bamboo Lantern Sales
Finished bamboo lanterns will be available for purchase at the workshop tent.

◆◆ Bamboo Lantern Making Workshop
(Open to everyone / Free of charge / Advance registration required)
Let’s make bamboo lanterns together and help brighten the festival!
Completed lanterns will be temporarily collected and displayed at the Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival venue for two days.
Please enjoy seeing your own lantern warmly lighting up the festival grounds.
After the festival, the lanterns will be returned to you so you can enjoy them at home.
