Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival Related Event: “Let’s Go Search for Winter’s Charm!”Held on Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9! Free to Participate!

Yonezawa Junior Chamber (JC) is hosting the event “Let’s Go Search for Winter’s Charm!” as part of the Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival!

Enjoy a variety of fun events such as the “Snowboard Experience,” “Candle Lantern Workshop,” “Miso Mochi Distribution,” and the “Elementary School Student Wooden Lantern Painting Exhibition.”

Come and experience the fun of snow!

◇ Dates and Times:
Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9, 2025
10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

(Held simultaneously with the 48th Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival!)

Denkoku-no-Mori Front Plaza and Matsugamisaki 2nd Park

◇ Event Details:

  • Candle Lantern Workshop (First 200 participants)
    • Design your own original candle lantern on an outdoor cup!
    • Dates and Times: February 8 & 9, 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM (making), 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM (lighting)
    • Location: Denkoku-no-Mori Front Plaza
  • Elementary School Student Wooden Lantern Painting Exhibition
    • Paintings created by local elementary school students will be displayed. Lanterns will be lit at night!
    • Dates and Times: February 8 & 9, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    • Location: Matsugamisaki 2nd Park
  • Snowboard Experience
    • Snowboarding is a popular winter activity in the Okitama region.
    • Dates and Times: February 8 & 9, 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
    • Location: Denkoku-no-Mori Front Plaza
  • Miso Mochi Distribution (Limited quantity)
    • Enjoy this soul food from Okitama!
    • Dates and Times: February 8 & 9, around 3:30 PM
