“Perspectives on Memorial Practices in Japan”

In this lecture, Professor Takagi will introduce various examples of these practices.
In the second half, we will present recent findings from research on the wooden memorial tablets (mokufuda) at Risshakuji Temple and discuss their cultural influence on the Okitama region.
