1st Yonezawa Sashiko Association ExhibitionNovember 29 (Sat) & November 30 (Sun) – Admission Free

We are pleased to announce the 1st Yonezawa Sashiko Association Exhibition.

Harakata Sashiko, a traditional stitching technique passed down by the wives of samurai in the Uesugi Domain of Yonezawa, has long faced concerns over the decline in successors.
In response, starting in April 2025, a new community initiative called “Yonezawa Sashiko” began. While preserving traditional techniques at its core, the project aims to apply sashiko in ways that suit modern lifestyles, led by local residents who have learned the craft.

Admission is free—please feel free to visit!

Workshops will also be held during the exhibition period.
Let’s enjoy creating Yonezawa Sashiko together!
