“Experience the Traditional Culture of Yonezawa” – One-day event on Saturday, October 12th!

Would you like to immerse yourself in the traditional culture of the Uesugi clan, a samurai family that once governed Yonezawa?

Join us for exclusive tours of areas typically closed to the public, complete with special commentary. Enjoy specially prepared meals for this occasion!

Three Special Experience Courses:

  1. “Weaving the Culture of Safflower” at the Samurai Family’s Dye House, Yonezawa Shinden
    • Guided factory tour and safflower dyeing by the fourth-generation owner.
    • Time: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Meeting at 12:30 PM)
    • Fee: 9,900 yen per adult (tax included)
  2. Sake Brewery “Toko,” Official Purveyor to the Uesugi Family
    • Guided tour of the sake brewery with sake tasting.
    • Time: 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Meeting at 12:30 PM)
    • Fee: 9,900 yen per adult (tax included)
  3. “Katemono Gourmet Experience” – South Asian-inspired Vegan Lunch & Dessert
    • Enjoy dishes specially crafted by a government chef at the Uesugi Baron Residence, a registered tangible cultural property.
    • Time: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM (Registration starts at 11:30 AM)
    • Fee: 5,800 yen per adult (tax included)
