A special design manhole event inspired by the film 好きでも嫌いなあまのじゃく, which is set in Yonezawa City, will be held in conjunction with the 第49回上杉雪灯篭まつり!
A locally themed design manhole based on the film Suki demo Kirai na Amanojaku has been installed at 西條天満公園, a location featured in the movie.
However, as the park is not cleared of snow during winter, the manhole is normally hidden once snow accumulates.
To solve this, during the 49th Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival in the heart of winter, we will host a hands-on experiential event where participants dig through the snow using small hand shovels to uncover the hidden design manhole!
Along the way, participants can enjoy toy capsule prizes, including Yonezawa beef gift vouchers and movie-related merchandise.
This event is fun for both adults and children. Anime fans, manhole enthusiasts, families, and friends are all welcome!
Let’s work together as a team and dig up the Suki-Ama manhole!

Limited to 20 groups (first come, first served)
- Each group may include any number of people
- Only one person per group may dig at a time
- Solo participation is also welcome
- Participants may take turns digging within their group
■ What to Bring
- One hand shovel (gardening transplant shovel) per group
■ Recommended Clothing
Warm, easy-to-move-in winter clothing such as ski wear, with proper footwear suitable for walking in deep snow.
