At Onogawa Onsen, the “Onogawa Onsen Kamakura Village” has been established as a winter tradition, supporting local winter tourism.
The “Onogawa Onsen Kamakura Village Project” offers a unique experience where you can enjoy ramen delivery inside a giant kamakura (snow hut).
The moment you sip warm ramen in the winter kamakura, while feeling the cold, your heart and body are comforted and warmed, creating a special experience that makes the most of the snowy landscape. This is an unforgettable experience unique to snowy regions.
The idea of offering ramen delivery came from a desire to make the stay at Onogawa Onsen even more enjoyable.
While savoring the locally beloved Yonezawa ramen, visitors can relax in the kamakura, gazing at the snowy scenery. This luxurious winter experience has become a special treat that many people greatly enjoy.
However, in recent years, the molds used to create the kamakura have become worn out, making the construction of the huts increasingly difficult. Issues such as the deformation of the structures have made it harder to maintain stable production of the kamakura.
If this continues, it will become difficult to preserve “Kamakura Village,” a key local tourism asset.
To solve this problem, we are introducing a tool called “Kamakura-kun,” which helps in the construction of kamakura huts.
With the introduction of “Kamakura-kun,” Onogawa Onsen will be able to continue offering stable, high-quality kamakura, ensuring that we can continue providing an attractive winter experience for visitors.
The beautiful sight of the kamakura and its unique experiences are iconic events of winter at Onogawa Onsen, and this project will help pass down local traditions to future generations.
This project is a crucial initiative to protect the region’s tourism resources and ensure that the Kamakura Festival can continue for many years to come.
