Challenge yourself in a thrilling vertical race through the great outdoors of Mt. Nishi-Azuma!
Set in the gateway to Mt. Nishi-Azuma—Tengendai, Shirabu Onsen, and Shintakayu Onsen (collectively known as “Around Nishi-Azuma”)—this trail run takes you through the unspoiled beauty of a national park.
Take on a unique course with a 1,020-meter elevation gain, traversing scenic paths from the historic onsen town walkways, up the Mt. Nishi-Azuma trail, and across the Tengendai Highlands ski slopes.
We also offer a middle-distance course perfect for beginners and children!

🏃 Categories & Entry Fees
Long Course (6.3 km, Elevation Gain: 1,020 m)
- Men’s & Women’s Divisions
- Open to junior high school students and older
- Entry Fee: ¥3,500
Middle Course (3.6 km, Elevation Gain: 550 m)
- Men’s & Women’s Divisions
- Open to elementary school students and older
- Entry Fee: ¥2,000
Includes ropeway & lift fare.
Participation prize (such as onsen bath ticket) included.
⏰ Schedule
- Check-in: From 7:00 AM at Ropeway Yumoto Station
- Race Start: 9:00 AM at Shirabu Onsen Public Parking Lot
- Awards Ceremony: 11:00 AM
- Fun prize drawing in front of Alp Tengendai
