This location consists of the gravesites of the wives and children of many generations of Yonezawa Domain daimyo. It is also the resting place of Naoe Kanetsugu and his wife.

Mt. Kasuga Rinsenji was built in 1617 under the direction of Uesugi Kagekatsu. The main gate was moved to its current location in 1908.
